In practice since 1994, Dr. Jacobson is a pleasant, compassionate and very skilled anesthesiologist. Voted AMERICA'S TOP ANESTHESIOLOGISTS 2006® and 2007® by the Consumers Research Council of America. The Sun-Sentinel featured him in October 2001. Dr. Jacobson is currently pursuing instructorship. Born in Southern California, this 47 year old doctor is married and has two beautiful children. Dr. Jacobson graduated from medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico. His medical school clinical training was completed in New York at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine-Flushing Hospital & Medical Center. Thereafter he completed one year of internal medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine-Elmhurst City Hospital, New York.
After completing another year of internal medicine at Flushing Hospital & Medical Center, he found his love in anesthesiology and was accepted at The Brookdale Hospital & Medical Center an affiliate of New York University School of Medicine. There he completed his anesthesiology residency and a fellowship in Pain Management. Dr. Jacobson is board certified with the AAPM.
In the following year, 1996, he moved to South Florida and worked his way to vice chairman in the department of anesthesiology at Plantation General Hospital, Plantation, Florida where he sat on multiple committees. In private practice since 1994 and as President of South Florida Anesthesiologists, Inc. since 2004, Dr. Jacobson is an instructor in basic & advanced cardiac life support. Well known in the community and well respected by his peers, Dr. Jacobson's services are requested by doctors, nurses, chief of anesthesiology, political officials, and their families alike. We are excited to have Dr. Jacobson as our director of anesthesiology and acute pain management at New Image Cosmetic Surgery Center.
We are happy to welcome Fabio Castro, M.D. as part of our team at New Image Cosmetic Surgery Center. Dr. Castro's reputation is based on his 25 years of Plastic & Reconstructive surgery. Having received his M.D. degree in Bogota, Columbia in 1975, Dr. Castro completed a general surgery residency in 1979. He then transferred to Guadalajara, Mexico where he completed a plastic & reconstructive surgery residency at The Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Institute of Guadalajara, an affiliate of Guadalajara University Graduate School in 1982. Dr. Castro was also trained in Microsurgery at The Mexican Social Security Institute at the Occident Medical Center, Guadalajara, Mexico. Dr. Castro also completed a fellowship in Plastic Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. He was a nine year clinical instructor at the plastic surgery department of USC, San Diego and he has presented/published many papers. Dr. Castro's expertise has been requested by fellow plastic surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and multiple experienced cosmetic surgery specialists to enhance their personal appearance. Dr. Thomassen is a Board Certified Plastic & Reconstruction surgeon. Dr. Thomassen was born in Santiago, Chile and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He completed his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech before returning home to obtain his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico. His interest in surgery, artistic inclination, and analytical skills lead him to pursue training in plastic surgery at Georgetown University Hospital. He has joined the South Florida medical community as a plastic surgeon interested in reconstructive and cosmetic procedures.
